What I’ve Learned Since My First Collection

What I’ve Learned Since My First Collection

When I look back on my very first collection, I feel a mix of emotions. There is gratitude, pride, and a little bit of tenderness for the version of myself who was just starting out, eager to bring a vision to life. Launching that debut collection taught me so much, lessons I carry with me every single day as I continue to build LeBeau Paper Co.

At the time, I thought I was ready for everything that came with launching. The excitement, the long nights, the creative bursts, but there were also challenges I could not have predicted. Some design choices did not feel as timeless as I hoped, production did not always go smoothly, and there were moments where I wished I had slowed down instead of rushing to get things out into the world.

Those moments could have felt like failures, but instead they became teachers. They showed me where I needed to refine, where I needed to be patient, and where I needed to lean into my original vision of creating tools that felt intentional and elevated.

As I prepare to introduce The Mesa Collection, I see how much those early lessons shaped me. This time, I gave myself permission to slow down. To work through the small engineering details that mattered, even if it meant waiting longer. To focus on creating fewer pieces that carry more meaning. To design a collection that feels like an evolution, not just a new product.

Growth does not always happen in big, shiny moments. Sometimes it is in the quiet adjustments, the willingness to learn, and the courage to keep going. The Mesa Collection is a reflection of that growth, a reminder that every step, even the imperfect ones, is part of the story.

I cannot wait to share this new chapter with you very soon.
