Choosing Your Planner Size

Planner on Marble Table

Finding the right planner size isn’t about choosing the “best” option. It’s about choosing what fits your life, your routine, and how you naturally like to plan. The goal is to create a system that feels easy to return to, not something that adds more pressure to your day.

At LeBeau Paper Co., we design with flexibility in mind so your planner can feel intuitive from the start and continue to evolve with you over time.

A5: Structured + Spacious

A5 is ideal if you want a balance between structure and room to think. It’s large enough to plan in detail, map out your weeks, and hold multiple inserts, while still being portable enough for everyday use.

If you enjoy writing things out, organizing your thoughts, or building a more complete system, A5 gives you the space to do that without feeling overwhelming.

Half Letter: Simple + Functional

Half Letter offers a slightly more compact approach. It’s perfect for a simpler, more streamlined system that still allows you to stay organized without taking up too much space.

If you prefer something that fits easily into your bag or want a planner that feels quick and functional, Half Letter is a great place to start. It encourages clarity without requiring as much structure.

A System That Grows With You

Your planning system doesn’t have to stay the same. What works for you now might shift as your routines change, and your planner should be able to grow alongside that.

While A5 and Half Letter are our current core sizes, we’re continuing to expand into additional formats designed to support different lifestyles and planning styles. Smaller, more portable options and expanded layouts are on the horizon, giving you more ways to build a system that fits your day-to-day life.

Ring vs Discbound

The way your planner functions matters just as much as its size.

Discbound systems are designed for flexibility. Pages can be added, removed, and rearranged easily, making it a great option if your system changes often or if you like to customize as you go.

Ring planners offer a more structured and traditional feel. Everything stays neatly in place, and the format is familiar and easy to maintain, especially if you prefer a set layout. At LeBeau Paper Co., our detachable ring system is designed to stand alone, allowing both discbound and ring setups to be used within the same folio. This creates a more seamless and flexible experience, so your system can shift with your needs without requiring an entirely new setup.

Start Where You Are

There’s no perfect setup, and there’s no need to have everything figured out from the beginning. The best planner is the one you’ll actually use consistently.

Start with what feels manageable. Build slowly. Let your system come together in a way that works for you.

If you’re unsure where to begin, you can explore our Starter Bundle or shop by size to find what fits best.
